The housing estate at Bodenstedstraße 27–31 and Goldbachstraße 8 and 10, comprising 52 socially-housed flats, is situated in the Altona Nord district. This neighbourhood in the Altona district, with a population of around 24,500, lacks a historic centre – Altona Nord has only been a distinct neighbourhood since the Second World War. However, this is not a problem, as trendy neighbourhoods such as Ottensen and Eimsbüttel are in the immediate vicinity. Altona Nord is home to many listed buildings. Notable examples on Max-Brauer-Allee include the Nyegaard-Stift (a residential complex for elderly women), the buildings housing the district court and the former regional court, and the Allee Grammar School. The historic buildings on Paulinenallee and Julius-Leber-Straße are also well worth a visit. A crowd-puller of a completely different kind is the Neue Flora, one of the largest theatres in Germany. Its musicals attract audiences from all over Germany. A new long-distance railway station is due to be built at Diebsteich in the coming years. However, the existing Altona station will remain in use as an S-Bahn station, providing excellent links to the city centre. Bus routes also criss-cross the district.
