Lohwurt 17-23

The Lohwurt 17–23 housing estate, comprising 43 publicly subsidised two- to four-room flats (built in 1991), is situated in the Eidelstedt district. This neighbourhood in the Eimsbüttel district, with a population of around 33,000, is a neighbourhood with two sides to it. With the A7 and A23 motorways and Eidelstedter Platz as a transport hub, Eidelstedt is one of the districts with particularly heavy traffic. But Eidelstedt is also green, mainly thanks to the Eidelstedter Feldmark, where amateur gardeners grow carrots or pumpkins on rented plots. Near Eidelstedter Platz lies the Lohkamp estate, comprising around 260 owner-occupied houses built by SAGA in the 1950s. The estate, with its narrow cul-de-sacs, has won several awards as the best owner-occupied housing estate. The Eidelstedt Centre shopping centre is home to around 60 shops, whilst the weekly market invites visitors to shop every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The Eidelstedt Community Centre is also located there, where events are held regularly. The district cultural centre offers courses in areas such as health, creative activities, languages and IT. Thanks to numerous bus routes and the S-Bahn lines S1, S3 and S21 (stops: Eidelstedt, Elbgaustraße) and the AKN (Altona-Kaltenkirchen-Neumünster Railway Company) with stops at Eidelstedt, Eidelstedt Zentrum and Hörgensweg, Eidelstedt has excellent public transport links.
