The housing estate at Kelloggstraße 15–21 and Jenfelder Allee 58, 60 and 62, comprising 95 two- to four-room flats (built in 1969), is situated in the Jenfeld district. This neighbourhood in the borough of Wandsbek, with a population of around 27,000, has been home to the Hamburg Football Association since 2001. The complex, which features football pitches and a sports hall, is also used by local clubs. In the centre and east of the district, prefabricated blocks of social housing from the 1970s dominate the landscape. For years, the city and housing associations have been working to regenerate these neighbourhoods. The west of Jenfeld presents a very different picture, with many detached houses in attractive housing estates. The western part is also home to the Bundeswehr’s Helmut Schmidt University, with 2,500 students. An avenue of chestnut trees leads from the junction of Jenfelder Allee into Jenfelder Moorpark. A circular path leads around the lovely lake. A meadow is perfect for playing and picnicking. The Jenfeld-Haus on Charlottenburger Straße has been a hub for local cultural activities since 1991. Courses are held here, and there are regular theatre performances and concerts. Bus routes connect Jenfeld with the city centre and the surrounding S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations.
